Our Mission
Our mission has always been to break this status quo. By creating new and innovative ways to combat the sticky plaster mentality we are consistently improving the living conditions for people experiencing homelessness while striving for bigger systemic change.
Last year’s event raised over £700k and took us well on our way to breaking new ground with our aim of building two new Social Bite Villages – locations soon to be announced! And this year we hope to ‘build’ on that plus much, much more…
This Year
Funds raised from this year will help to support even more people in the following ways:
Homes – we continue to raise funds to help build two new Social Bite Villages in two new locations (soon to be announced) as well as continuing to innovate new programmes to tackle the issue of unsuitable temporary accommodation.
Jobs – Over the past ten years, we have learned first-hand the transformative power a job with support can have for someone who has experienced homelessness and trauma. It gives you purpose in life. That’s why we’ve created an initiative to help revolutionise how people who have experienced homelessness access job opportunities across the UK. Jobs First launched in October 2021 in Scotland and London, with aims to be replicated in other cities across the UK
Food – Social Bite distributes over 180,000 items of food and hot drinks to vulnerable people each year. We believe food is the primary engagement tool for helping to signpost people experiencing homelessness to access the support needed to combat complex needs and ultimately break the cycle of homelessness.
